Another strange 8 legged beasty that makes its way through the depths where only bacteria and lava dare to tread. Its massive head acts as a digger apparatus. This one was a little tougher than usual. I've certainly done my fair share of lava induced craziness, but this one for some reason kicked my ass a little bit harder than others. Thanks for looking!
fascinating- so, does it actually come into contact with lava? if so, how does it's biochemistry work? water boils at 212- organic chemistry as we know it breaks down way before it reaches lava temperatures. although, perhaps it could be made out of radically different things.
It might not actually come into contact with the Lava. Sure, here and there, but not actually diving in like michael phelps in a race.
What I'm seeing here is that this beast creates tunnels with its giant spade face and perhaps releases a form of chemical into the rock it passes which holds them together.
Or it could come into contact and may actually benefit from the heat, leaking a form of super durable material from pores in its skin and using them plus the heat from the Lava to create the tunnels it creates.
What I figure is happening in the pic, is that it has come upon a chasm and is gazing out at it, trying to find its next plan of attack.
Love the concept! I really hope someday we find thingies like this deep down in the earth's core
Am I the only one who kind of wants this to be a reference to the Bone Serpent from Terraria?
This is crazy awesome!
O.O DAMN! Please God, never let that exist in our world...
Really cool creature!
Brilliant work! The detail is simply impressive.
I can see how this could kick anyone's ass.
That would be one massive headbutt.
